The Minnesota Center for Engineering & Manufacturing Excellence builds partnerships between higher education, business and industry to stimulate economic development through education, training, and applied research.
ACTION
Goal 1- Pipeline
MNCEME will increase the pipeline of students, graduates and existing workers in the areas of engineering, engineering technology, manufacturing and related technical fields. MNCEME will support and promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and training opportunities for all learners, with special attention to women and underrepresented populations.
Goal 2 – Advanced Technology
MNCEME will develop engineers and technicians with industry recognized skills able to meet changing workplace demands influenced by advanced technology.
Goal 3 – National Reputation
MNCEME will develop a national reputation as an innovative model of educational and industrial collaboration to support engineering and manufacturing companies.
GOAL 4- Alternative Resources
MNCEME will promote the use of renewable, recyclable resources in engineering and manufacturing practices, and provide leadership in the critical areas of production, consumption, and conservation to business, industry and learners.
GOAL 5 – Global Competition
MNCEME will provide support and leadership for Minnesota business and industry to better compete in the global marketplace by offering innovative customized and contract training opportunities.
GOAL 6 – Best Practices
MNCEME will increase the use of best practices in engineering and manufacturing education in MnSCU institutions and beyond.
GOAL 7 – Applied Research
MNCEME will promote collaboration among educational and industry partners by fostering student-faculty-industry applied research projects.
